This most recent round, awarded in the midst of a global pandemic and civic unrest, will grant nearly $50,000 for needed repairs, research, and project planning in communities large and small – all stewards of authentic Maryland history.

The Maryland Heritage Areas Authority governs the state’s heritage tourism program including providing financial and technical assistance across thirteen targeted areas. In the Authority’s latest round of funding, approved in November 2019, there are 15 new funded grant projects, representing over $600,000 in matching investments made in support of heritage tourism in Maryland.
