The federal Opportunity Zones program is a new reinvestment and redevelopment tool that is available to nearly 150 designated areas of Maryland including many in rural areas of the state. Preservation Maryland is hosting representatives from the Maryland Department of Commerce and the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development to discuss Opportunity Zones on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 from 6PM-7PM at the City Park Building in Brunswick, Maryland.

Preservation Maryland will host a preservation pop-up office at The Miller House of the Washington County Historical Society on Tuesday, May 14, 2019. The public is encouraged to visit the pop-up office anytime between 10AM and 4PM to speak with a member of Preservation Maryland’s professional staff about their historic preservation and historic property questions. No appointment is needed.

Preservation Maryland’s annual Best of Maryland awards will be held at the historic Glen Echo Park on Thursday, May 16, 2019.
