Survey: How does Heritage and History Support Maryland Tourism?

by | Aug 3, 2016

The Maryland heritage and cultural tourism network has an opportunity to assure that our priorities are well represented in an current study by the Maryland State Office of Tourism Development, they’re calling DestinationNEXT. Here’s more about the survey and the report:

Does your historic site or local business rely on tourism?

DestinationNEXT is an online survey that measures over a dozen variables related to the strength, community support, and engagement of a destination. The vision of DestinationNEXT is to provide Destination Marketing Organizations (basically regional tourism offices) with practical actions and strategies for sustainable success in a dramatically changing world. This tool presents a framework that tourism leaders and communities can use to critically assess the destination. It also helps to start a conversation and provide focus on what needs to be done in the future.

DestinationNEXT enables the Office of Tourism and partner organizations to identify strengths, priorities, areas for potential improvement, and to develop strategies for future growth. Completing the DestinationNEXT survey will help your organization to assess how you fit into the Maryland tourism plans and the Office of Tourism will be able to better understand how best to help you reach the next level.
