by | Oct 11, 2019

Outreach is an integral part of Preservation Maryland’s mission and while it is one of the nation’s oldest historic preservation organizations, we regularly embrace new technology and opportunities to share our ethos of preservation and conservation. One of those efforts is PreserveCast, our podcast, that was recently recognized with an award from Historic Annapolis.

PreserveCast LogoPreservation Maryland Executive Director, Nicholas Redding, who hosts PreserveCast, accepted the award with Meagan Baco, Director of Communications from Karen Theimer Brown, Vice President of Preservation at the Historic Annapolis’ annual meeting earlier this month.

Since 2017, Preservation Maryland has released over 100 episodes of PreserveCast. Each episode features an interview with a guest that works directly or indirectly with historic preservation and has included topics of underwater archaeology, placemaking, battlefields, laser scanning, cemeteries, and other hot topics in historic preservation and public history. Previously, the podcast was recognized by the Maryland Historical Trust for Excellence in Media & Publications.
