Preservation Maryland Awarded Community Investment Tax Credit

by | Aug 29, 2022

Support our work to revitalize, rehabilitate, and adaptively reuse the historic Ellicott City Jail and Virginia Snoots House.

Preservation Maryland has been awarded a Community Investment Tax Credit from the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development to help support our growing Historic Property Redevelopment program.

Our projects in Ellicott City and Brunswick will bring together funding from both state and private sources to spur growth and economic development in these communities. At the Ellicott City Jail Preservation Maryland and its partners are currently exploring the feasibility of its reuse as a Center for Climate, Heritage, and Preservation Studies, while conversations continue about the use of the historic Snoots House as a community asset.

With this award, and your support, Preservation Maryland is doing the hard work to protect and adaptively reuse historic structures across the state.
