Paid Internship Opportunity: Smart Growth Summer Intern

Internship Details

Preservation Maryland seeks applicants for its Smart Growth Summer Internship. It is a temporary, part-time intern position for at least 3 months at approximately 10-20 hours per week. Based in Baltimore, Maryland, but we are currently working remotely due to the COVID-19 restrictions. The position will be paid at an hourly rate of $11.75/hour and is not eligible for benefits.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

This position will work on Smart Growth Maryland with the Advocacy Associate. Preservation Maryland leads Smart Growth Maryland, a dynamic program that advocates for state and local policy priorities that direct new public and private investment in keeping with the principles of smart growth. 

Our mission is to create a more environmentally and economically sustainable future that creates opportunities for all Marylanders through better policies. The organization partners with Maryland’s leading historic preservation, environmental conservation, and land preservation organizations to help achieve this mission.

Ruby Nwaebube · Advocacy Associate

Ruby works to expand the advocacy capacity of the organization as well as researching innovative policy solutions to smart growth and preservation challenges at the local, state, and federal level. Ruby is a graduate of the University of Virginia and prior to joining the Preservation Maryland team enjoyed a diverse range of experiences from documenting African-American historical sites to developing augmented reality and educational simulation games.
