In early December, 2020, a long-time preservationist and friend of Preservation Maryland, Doug Hayes, formerly of Laurel, Maryland and late of Walkersville, Maryland passed away unexpectedly.

To honor Doug’s legacy of preservation, including his passion for rehabilitation and restoration of historic properties, his family has graciously asked that donations be made in his name to support Preservation Maryland’s Historic Property Redevelopment Fund.

Gifts will support the current log cabin rehabilitation in Hagerstown and will be “revolved” from the sale of that structure to go on to make permanent impact in the state Doug loved.
