Preservation Maryland will convene a meeting of Maryland’s preservation planners this December to continue an annual dialogue around challenges and opportunities to shape Maryland’s historic built environment. Maryland is home to many different types of communities and landscapes—we’re called American in Miniature for a reason.

But despite the differences in their jurisdictions, the work of preservation planning has many commonalities. Maryland’s preservation and planning professionals are invited to share your challenges and your successes.

This year’s dialog will look at the issue of cemetery documentation, the ways various jurisdictions collect data, and a follow-up to the project between the State Highway Administration and Preservation Maryland introduced last year. We will also have time for participants to raise issues from their communities and get feedback from their colleagues.

Feel free to share this invitation with your planning colleagues. Please note this meeting is intended to be a roundtable discussion for active professional planners in Maryland.
