In February 1913, a band of women suffragists marched from New York to Washington, DC to demand action on women’s voting rights. Join historian Kacy Rohn to discuss the groundbreaking march of the Army of the Hudson down the U.S. Route 1 corridor. Stops along this march included Laurel, College Park, and Bladensburg. The suffragist’s route through Maryland not only inspired local suffragists, but exposed both racism within the movement and opposition to their cause.
