Workshop: Protecting Maryland’s Historic Buildings from Floods

Our Ellicott City Preservation Resource Center field director Renée Novak will report on the flood recovery and preservation efforts in Ellicott City at a workshop on Thursday, May 25, 2017, hosted by the Maryland Historical Trust on addressing flooding in historic communities.

This Weather it Together workshop is hosted by the Maryland Historical Trust to address flooding and historic buildings. The workshop will cover how to plan for nuisance flooding and flood events, discuss professional perspectives on flood mitigation and adaptation, and share tools and resources that you can use in your own community. Local planners, emergency management personnel, historic preservation organizations and interested citizens are encouraged to attend.

The deadline to register is Thursday, May 18, 2017 and space is limited. Your registration fee of $20, payable at the door, will cover a light breakfast, lunch and coffee for the day.
