May is Preservation Month and to help kick off the celebration, Preservation Maryland and the Maryland Historical Trust will present a ceremonial check for $10,000 to Main Street Middletown on Thursday, May 3rd in support of their efforts to purchase two distinctive historic buildings on West Main Street.
Every year, Preservation Maryland joins with the entire preservation community to celebrate Preservation Month in May! We ramp up our work and offer up even more workshops and tours, we hold the Best of Maryland awards, and we set out to share even more interesting Maryland history on our blog. Here are three ways you can celebrate with Preservation Maryland:
The Ark of Hungerford Creek is a one-of-a-kind-historic-resource – and was recently moved to safety by the Calvert Marine Museum. Their efforts will be recognized with a Best of Maryland award from Preservation Maryland.
Led by Lewis Contractors, a team of experts and artisans recently worked on a detailed restoration project at the historic Hackerman House of The Walters Art Museum in Baltimore City. For their extraordinary efforts to protect the building’s historic interior and impressive art collection, Preervation Maryland will recognize those involved with a Best of Maryland award.
