On Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 2pm the Maryland State Archives will host a kick off event for the Maryland Four Centuries Project. Please join us for an exploration of the politics of 17th century Maryland and the move of the capital from St. Mary’s City to Annapolis with esteemed guest speakers, Dr. Edward C. Papenfuse, Dr. Henry Miller and Mr. Burt Kummerow. This event will be free and open to the public.
The American Philatelic Research Library, the American Philatelic Society, and the Smithsonian National Postal Museum jointly produce the Blount Postal History Symposium, which has been held since 2006. The symposium provides a forum for philatelists, academic scholars, postal historians, and the interested public to discuss and present research that integrates philately or the history of postal operations into the broader context of world history.
