Schedule an Energy Audit for your Old Home with Energy Services Group

By Preservation Maryland

If you’re thinking of making your historic home more energy efficient, you’ll want to start with an energy audit to find out where you can best spend your resources to make the biggest difference in your heating and cooling bills. Preservation Maryland has entered a partnership with Energy Services Group to offer audits to Marylanders – and support Preservation Maryland at the same time.

Your energy audit will pinpoint sources of cold rooms and drafts, design solutions, and walk you through the renovation process needed to fortify your defenses. Believe it or not, most of the fixes are behind the scenes in your attic or basement and will not impact the integrity of a historic home. WHAT’S AN ENERGY AUDIT?
WHAT CAN BE DONE?

On the day you schedule your audit, an ESG team member will come to your property with state-of-the-art equipment – it typically takes a couple of hours. The data collected will inform a custom computer analysis and lead to expert recommendations. After the audit, ESG crews are set up to provide comprehensive air sealing throughout your home, and install insulation in attics, walls, and foundations.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

Through the EmPower Maryland Program, Maryland customers may only pay $100 for the ENERGY STAR® Audit, and for every audit that’s completed through our partnership with ESG, a portion of the fee will be returned to Preservation Maryland as a donation. Energy Services Group will also verify if the improvement work may qualify for a 50% rebate on all your efficiency improvements, up to $2,000.
