Thanks to the generous support of the Rural Maryland Council, Preservation Maryland will be hitting the road to setup temporary pop-up offices in rural parts of the state.

Update: Thanks to the great response from last year’s pop-ups and continued support from the Rural Maryland Council, Preservation Maryland will host five more pop-up offices this May and June.

2019 Pop-Up Schedule

Pop-up offices are a newer concept based on similar ideas from the retail world the idea is to quickly setup shop and become more accessible to the community. Preservation Maryland is pleased to partner with several organizations around the state to make this year’s pop-up project possible.

what to expect at a pop-up office?

Preservation Maryland staff will setup shop and work remotely from the pop-up space. Members of the public are encouraged to drop-in to learn more about the work of the organization and to talk to professional staff about questions or concerns they may have about preservation issues in their community. Staff will assist visitors and help connect them to existing resources. Information on state and non-profit preservation programs will be on-hand as well as information about Preservation Maryland’s many initiatives and educational opportunities. In addition to Preservation Maryland staff, representatives of other statewide non-profit organizations and governmental units have been invited to attend and may also be in attendance to help answer questions.

when can you visit a pop-up office?

This summer, we’ve hosted four pop-up offices with one more scheduled in mid-August in Garrett County. Please check for locations and times belows. Members of the public are encouraged to drop-in and no appointment is necessary. Preservation Maryland staff will be on hand to talk and meet with anyone who stops in.
