May is Preservation Month in Maryland

By Preservation Maryland

Every year, Preservation Maryland joins with the entire preservation community to celebrate Preservation Month in May! We ramp up our work and offer up even more workshops and tours, we hold the Best of Maryland awards, and we set out to share even more interesting Maryland history on our blog. Here are three ways you can celebrate with Preservation Maryland:

EXPLORE MARYLAND

If you need some inspiration of where to go, check out our statewide calendar of events – you’ll find walking tours and lectures and special traditional events all across the state. This Preservation Month, as you head out exploring Maryland’s natural, cultural, and historic resources, tag your photos with #preservemd.

FOLLOW OUR BLOG

On our blog, Preservation Maryland staff and interns share stories on interesting Maryland traditions and history, and updates from our proactive preservation projects across the state. The easiest way to make sure you’re hearing from us is to sign-up for our emails, and follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

SUPPORT PRESERVATION

Preservation doesn’t just happen in May! Preservation Maryland works year around to protect Maryland history, architecture, and open space. Your donation will be put to good use immediately, including supporting our staff to provide technical assistance around the state at our Six-to-Fix sites, and in Ellicott City.
