Preservation Maryland will join the Maryland League of Conservation Voters to host a series of legislative preview meetings across the state to discuss the environmental and preservation priorities for the upcoming 2018 Maryland General Assembly Session.

This is an important partnership for effective advocacy because Maryland’s history and heritage was shaped by and is still intrinsically tied to the land and water. By ensuring the conservation of the landscape and waterways across the state, we are in turn preserving the historic cultural landscapes that are integral to preserving the history of Maryland. We also know that the environmental impact of the reuse and rehabilitation of historic buildings is much lower than that of demolition and new construction.
