By Preservation Maryland

First Day Hikes are a great way to start of the New Year in a fun and healthy way! Maryland Park Service rangers, staff and volunteers will lead more than 30 hikes on public lands and state parks New Year’s Day.

Did you know!? A recent survey placed visiting historic sites second only to walking for the top reasons why Marylanders visit their State Parks!

HISTORIC RESOURCES IN OUR STATE PARKS

The Maryland State Parks stewards more of the state’s historic and architectural resources than any other entity. Through our Six-to-Fix program, Preservation Maryland will work to help identify, document, and prioritize the needs of these resources in the face of a limited budget and large project backlog.
