Preservation Maryland Executive Director Nicholas Redding will give a lecture program at the Miller House Museum with the Washington County Historical Society on the topic of the Women’s Suffrage Movement in Maryland.

Enjoy a drink and have a think! At Culture & Cocktails, a lecture program at the Miller House Museum, we tackle a historical topic with the help of a little liquid fortitude.

The centennial anniversary of women’s suffrage is coming up fast, and we’re taking a look at the wonderful women who made it happen! We’re hosting Nicholas Redding, Executive Director of Preservation Maryland, to tell you all you need to know about the Women’s Suffrage Movement and some of the most exciting local initiatives to promote women’s history!

The featured cocktail will be The Sidecar. This classic Prohibition Era drink was named for the motorcycle sidecar, a popular invention of the time. It was brought to America shortly after World War I, where is was enjoyed by liberated ‘new’ women across the country, and remains a popular throwback cocktail to this day.

Your ticket price will include your first drink, and refills will be available for a small fee. This event is for adults ages 21 and older, please.
